SMALL GEO – Hispasat 36W-1

The Mission

The first SmallGEO mission based on the new satellite platform was launched with a payload for the Spanish satellite operator HISPASAT as “HISPASAT Advanced Generation 1”. HISPASAT 36W-1 will be placed in a geostationary orbit at an altitude of 36,000 kilometers, where it will supply Spain, Portugal, the Canary Islands and South America with multimedia services. The operator will be integrating HISPASAT 36W-1 in its existing fleet of geostationary communications satellites.
